1.  Linguistic resources:  standard Spanish, colloquial Spanish, slang.

2.  Resources to express emotionality: intonation, interjections and interjectional expressions, hyperbolic

     expressions, irony.

3.  Appellative function: formulas of courtesy, requests,  tranquillity; vocatives, fatic formulas, formulas of

     reaffirmation, agreement and comprehension; formulas for explanations, apologies, and incitement. 

     Forms of address and appeals: diminutives and nicknames.

4.  Interrogations: inquisitive questions, inquisitive-expressive questions, rhetorical questions

5.  Affirmations and negations

6.  Ellipsis and linguistic economy: sentential interruptions, refrains

7.  Iterations: emphatic and formulary  iterations

8.  Word order:  verb-subject inversion, ante-position of other sentential elements.

9.  Particles: que, pues, pero, si, y.

10. The deixis:  personal pronouns, impersonalization of speaker, dative of interest. The neutral
